2021 Bedrock Syrah Hudson Vineyard

I am confident in saying that this is one of the best Hudson Syrah bottlings we have ever made. Harkening from the two T-blocks, both planted in 1993 to Estrella and Noir selection Syrah for our old friend Michael Havens, this fruit has always been one of the jewels we have had the good fortune to work with. In 2021, the blocks produced small yields of enormously dense, deeply colored fruit that has resulted in a prodigious wine of great weight and aromatics. Dripping with the hallmark Hudson Syrah aromatics of charcuterie, flowers, and pepper, this is going to be a wine that provides hedonistic enjoyment now while also having a long life ahead of it. Stylistically it reminds me most of the 2009 Hudson T, our first year working with the block, except with more spice and a trace more finesse from the increased whole-cluster and larger format barrels we use these days. I truly love this wine.
